In this article, we will show you how to activate VisualGDB for Visual Studio in a few easy steps.
Step 1: Get your Seat ID and Key ID
When you install VisualGDB for the first time, it will run in trial mode for 30 days. To activate it, you need to get your Seat ID and Key ID from the About VisualGDB dialog in Visual Studio.
To open the About VisualGDB dialog, go to Help -> About VisualGDB in Visual Studio. You will see something like this:
The Seat ID is a unique identifier of your computer and user account. The Key ID is a random number that changes every time you update or reinstall VisualGDB. You need both of these IDs to activate VisualGDB.
Step 2: Get your Activation Key
Once you have your Seat ID and Key ID, you need to get your Activation Key from the VisualGDB website. To do this, go to https://visualgdb.com/activate/ and fill in the information below:
Seat ID: Enter your Seat ID from the About VisualGDB dialog.
Key ID: Enter your Key ID from the About VisualGDB dialog.
Version: Select the version of VisualGDB that you are using.
Comment: Optional comment for your own records.
After filling in the information, click on the Get Activation Key button. You will see something like this:
The Activation Key is a file that contains your license information and a digital signature. You need to download this file and save it on your computer.
Step 3: Enter your Activation Key
Now that you have your Activation Key file, you need to enter it in the About VisualGDB dialog in Visual Studio. To do this, go to Help -> About VisualGDB -> Enter Code in Visual Studio. You will see something like this:
Click on the Browse button and select the Activation Key file that you downloaded from the VisualGDB website. Then click on the OK button. You will see a confirmation message like this:
